- Society for the Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Math and Science conference awarded federally granted scholarship to attend the conference to learn how to better teach minority students in math and science, September 2003 and 2004.
- Society for the Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Math and Science awarded a grant to purchase a laptop so I may do a research project integrating science and math into my instruction. For my research I studied solar flares and how they affect the aurora borealis. Students used technology to make power point presentations about what they learned.
